How this 10-day Bali plan works

Bali + Gili Islands

Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Bali rather than in transit. Bali has no urban transit — rent a scooter (~IDR 70k/day), hire a private driver (IDR 700k–900k/day, ~USD 45–60), or use Grab/Gojek for point-to-point rides. Traffic between Kuta ↔ Ubud can hit 90 min in peak. Ngurah Rai (DPS) airport is 15 min from Kuta/Seminyak and 90 min from Ubud/Uluwatu.

Day by day

• Day 1

  Day 1–7 — Full Bali first-timer above.

• Day 2

  Day 8 — Fast boat to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air (2h from Padangbai).

• Day 3

  Day 9 — Snorkel with turtles at Gili Meno; sunset at Ombak Sunset.

• Day 4

  Day 10 — Return to Bali; late flight home.

Where to base yourself

• Ubud

  Jungle interior — rice terraces (Tegallalang), Sacred Monkey Forest, yoga retreats, Four Seasons Sayan, COMO Shambhala. Best for wellness, honeymoon, culture.

• Seminyak / Kerobokan

  Beach-club and boutique-shopping strip — Potato Head, Ku De Ta, W Bali, The Legian, Alila Seminyak. Best for luxury nightlife + design.

• Canggu / Berawa / Pererenan

  Surf-and-brunch capital — coworking, expat cafés, boutique villas, Finns Beach Club. Best for digital nomads + surfers.

• Uluwatu / Bukit

  Clifftop resorts and world-class surf — Six Senses, Bulgari, Alila Villas Uluwatu, Rock Bar at Ayana. Best for honeymoon + iconic views.

Best time to run this itinerary

April–October is the dry season (peak July–August). November–March is the green season — cheaper resorts, dramatic waterfalls, occasional downpours. Nyepi (Balinese New Year, March) shuts the island for 24 hours of silence — no flights, no lights, plan accordingly.
