How this 7-day Jeddah plan works

Jeddah + Umrah + AlUla

Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Jeddah rather than in transit. Careem, Uber and metered taxis cover the city cheaply; the Corniche and Al-Balad are walkable but distances between districts are long. A car is useful for the Corniche, King Abdullah Sports City and Obhur beach resorts. A metro line is under construction.

Day by day

• Day 1

  Day 1 — Arrive JED, Al-Balad tour.

• Day 2

  Day 2 — Haramain High-Speed Rail to Makkah for Umrah (Muslim visitors only).

• Day 3

  Day 3 — Madinah pilgrimage + rail return.

• Day 4

  Day 4 — Corniche and Red Sea rest day.

• Day 5

  Day 5 — Fly to AlUla.

• Day 6

  Day 6 — Hegra ranger tour + Elephant Rock.

• Day 7

  Day 7 — Return via Riyadh or direct to Jeddah.

Where to base yourself

• Al-Balad (Historic Jeddah)

  UNESCO coral-stone old town — Nassif House, souks and heritage boutique hotels.

• Corniche

  30 km waterfront with King Fahd Fountain, sculptures, cafés and family beaches.

• Obhur (North Jeddah)

  Beach resorts and marinas — dive centres, boat charters and Red Sea day trips.

• Al Rawdah / Al Andalus

  Business and dining districts — Ritz-Carlton, Assila and skyline restaurants.

Best time to run this itinerary

November–March is peak with 22–30°C days and warm sea. April, October and May are pleasant but humid. June–September is very hot (35–40°C) and humid — pair with beach clubs and indoor sights. Formula 1 Saudi Arabian GP runs in March.

Before you go

• Jeddah is noticeably more relaxed than Riyadh — abayas are not expected for women visitors.

• The Formula 1 Saudi Arabian GP runs the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in March — book flights and hotels months ahead.

• Non-Muslims cannot enter Makkah; the Haramain High-Speed Rail from JED runs to Madinah but skips the sanctuary zone.
