How this 3-day Marrakech plan works
Medina essentials
Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Marrakech rather than in transit. The medina is walkable but tight — leave luggage at the riad and use petit taxis (agree the fare) for anything outside the walls. The airport is 15 minutes from most hotels.
Day by day
Day 1
Day 1 — Jemaa el-Fnaa, souks and a rooftop sunset.
Day 2
Day 2 — Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden and a hammam.
Day 3
Day 3 — Atlas foothills day trip (Ourika or Imlil).
Where to base yourself
Medina
Traditional riads steps from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the souks.
Guéliz
Modern boutiques, restaurants and easier road access.
Hivernage
Large gardens and international-brand hotels near the ramparts.
Palmeraie
Palm-grove resorts 15–20 minutes from the centre.
Best time to run this itinerary
March–May and September–November bring 22–28°C days perfect for medina walks and day trips. December and January are quiet and mild; July and August can top 40°C, so plan early mornings and pool afternoons.
Before you go
Agree petit-taxi fares before setting off, or ask for the meter.
Cover shoulders and knees when visiting religious sites.
Book Atlas or Sahara day trips through your riad for vetted drivers.
