Entry and arrival formalities
e-Gates open to most e-visa holders. Extension of stay possible via ROP portal for OMR 5/day.
Over 100 nationalities can obtain an Omani e-visa online (10-day or 30-day, single or multiple entry). GCC nationals and a short list of others enter visa-free.
Getting into the city
Muscat is long and coastal — a rental car or hotel driver is the practical choice. Metered orange-and-white taxis are common but negotiate the fare; Careem operates in the city. Public buses (Mwasalat) connect main districts but are slow.
