  • Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) — 17 km from the centre

    Bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín metro CZK40 (35–45 min); Airport Express bus CZK100 to Praha hl.n.; Bolt CZK500–700 (20–35 min). NEVER use terminal taxi touts.

Arriving by train

Praha hl.n. central rail hub — direct Vienna 4h, Berlin 4h, Budapest 6h30, Munich 6h. Regiojet + Leo Express high-speed cheaper than ČD.

Entry and arrival formalities

Schengen immigration on arrival — passport valid 3 months beyond stay. Print/screenshot hotel + return ticket for edge cases.

Schengen visa-free 90 days per 180 for US/UK/EU/Canada/Australia/NZ/Japan/Korea/UAE/most Latin America. From late 2026 non-EU visa-exempt need ETIAS €7 (3-year, travel-europe.europa.eu). Others use Schengen visa via Czech consulate / VFS Global.

Getting into the city

Prague metro (A/B/C lines) + trams + buses share one ticket: 30 min CZK30, 90 min CZK40, 24h CZK120, 72h CZK330. Old Town + Malá Strana are best walked. Uber + Bolt work well (CZK150–300 typical). Do NOT use unmarked taxis — meter scams common. Trains from Praha hl.n. reach Vienna 4h, Berlin 4h, Budapest 6h30.

  • Bolt + Uber

    Both work well — CZK150–300 typical inner-city; safer than street taxis.
