Best time to run this itinerary

June–August for Midnight Sun (near 24h light), puffins on Vestmannaeyjar, ice caves closed, best road access. September–March for Northern Lights (peak Oct–Feb). December for Christmas markets + shortest days (4h light). February–March for ice caves + snowmobiles + still Northern Lights + longer days than Dec.
