Stockholm island-hop weekend
Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Stockholm rather than in transit. SL metro (T-bana — most-artistic subway in world with 90 station art installations) + trams + buses + commuter trains + archipelago ferries all on SL Access card: 75-min single SEK42, 24h SEK175, 72h SEK350. Walk Gamla Stan + Södermalm. Waxholmsbolaget ferries to archipelago (Vaxholm 1h SEK80). Trains from Stockholm C reach Copenhagen 5h, Oslo 6h.

Day 1 — Gamla Stan Old Town + Royal Palace guard + Nobel Museum + Stortorget dinner.
Day 2
Day 2 — Djurgården all-day: Vasa Museum + ABBA + Skansen + Gröna Lund.

Best time to run this itinerary
May–August for 18h daylight (June Midsommar 22h light) + archipelago boats + waterfront dining. September for shoulder + food festivals. November–December for Christmas markets at Skansen + Old Town + Gamla Stan candlelight. January–February coldest (–5°C) + snow — cheap hotels + Ice Bar + potential Northern Lights on Åre / Abisko northern trips.
