Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Stockholm rather than in transit. Best time to run this itinerary

May–August for 18h daylight (June Midsommar 22h light) + archipelago boats + waterfront dining. September for shoulder + food festivals. November–December for Christmas markets at Skansen + Old Town + Gamla Stan candlelight. January–February coldest (–5°C) + snow — cheap hotels + Ice Bar + potential Northern Lights on Åre / Abisko northern trips.
