3-day itinerary for Warsaw

How this 3-day Warsaw plan works

Warsaw classic long weekend

Each day below is grouped geographically so you spend your time in Warsaw rather than in transit. ZTM metro (M1 + M2), trams (world's densest tram network), buses + SKM commuter trains share one ticket: 20-min PLN3.40, 75-min PLN4.40, 24h PLN15, 72h PLN36. Old Town + Royal Route + Powiśle all walkable. Uber + Bolt + FreeNow all work well (PLN15–40 typical). Central Station (Warszawa Centralna) runs Pendolino to Krakow 2h30, Gdańsk 3h, Berlin 5h30, Prague 8h; overnight to Vienna + Budapest.

Day by day

Best time to run this itinerary

May–June + September for warm sun (18–24°C), riverside beaches (Poniatówka), open-air concerts. July–August peak (25–30°C) — Wilanów summer opera + Chopin concerts in Łazienki Park (free, every Sunday). November–December for Christmas markets on Rynek Starego Miasta + Krakowskie Przedmieście. January–February coldest (–5°C, snow) + cheapest.

Before you go

  • Watch for taxi scams at WAW airport — use Bolt/Uber or licensed ele-taxi / Sawa Taxi ranks.

  • Free Sunday: many museums (National Museum, Wilanów Palace, Warsaw Rising Museum on Mondays) free one day per week — check policies before paying.

  • Buy 24h/72h public-transit pass PLN15/36 covering airport train + all trams + metro — best value in EU capitals.
