Singapore 3-Day Itinerary
A realistic 3-day Singapore itinerary: what to see each day, where to stay, how to move between areas and when to go.

How this 3-day Singapore plan works
Three days in Singapore works well as one bay day, one heritage-and-food day, and one day given to either Sentosa or the zoo, depending on whether the trip skews towards city sights or family entertainment.
Singapore essentials
Where to base yourself for this plan
Stay in Marina Bay, Orchard Road or Chinatown/Tanjong Pagar — all three keep every day below within a short MRT ride.
Day 1: Marina Bay and the Civic District
Focus: Marina Bay / City Hall
Morning
Gardens by the Bay's conservatories on an early slot, then the Supertree Grove.
Afternoon
Walk the bayfront to the Merlion, then across to the Civic District for the Padang, St Andrew's Cathedral and the Asian Civilisations Museum.
Evening
Dinner at Lau Pa Sat hawker centre, then the Spectra light show from the promenade.
Getting between them
Entirely walkable along the bay; Bayfront and City Hall MRT stations bracket the route.
Day 2: Chinatown, Little India and hawker food
Focus: Chinatown / Little India
Morning
Chinatown temples and shophouse streets, lunch at Maxwell Food Centre.
Afternoon
MRT to Little India for the spice shops, Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple and Mustafa Centre.
Evening
Return towards Kampong Glam for dinner around Haji Lane and a look at the illuminated Sultan Mosque.
Getting between them
North East line links Chinatown and Little India directly; Bugis MRT covers Kampong Glam.
Day 3: Sentosa
Focus: Sentosa Island
Morning
Cable car from Mount Faber for the arrival views, then Universal Studios or the S.E.A. Aquarium.
Afternoon
Siloso or Palawan Beach for a swim and lunch by the sand.
Evening
Sunset drinks at a beach bar before the monorail back to VivoCity and the mainland.
Getting between them
Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity, or cable car from Mount Faber/HarbourFront.
Adapting this plan
If you have young children rather than an interest in temples, swap day two for the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari. If your flight leaves late on day three, keep Sentosa as a half day and add a final round of hawker food near your hotel before heading to Changi.
Best time to run this itinerary
Singapore sits 1° from the equator — hot and humid year-round (25–33°C). February–April is the driest window; June–September is haze season (Indonesian forest fires possible). Northeast monsoon (November–January) brings afternoon downpours but rarely disrupts sightseeing.
Before you go
Any contactless card taps directly on MRT gates — no separate card needed for tourists.
Return your hawker tray — enforced since 2021 with S$300 fines.
Singapore Sling is a tourist ritual at Raffles Hotel Long Bar (S$40) — expect queues.
Singapore FAQs
Is three days enough for Singapore?
Yes for the core city sights and one full day on Sentosa or at the zoo. It does not leave room for a Pulau Ubin day trip or the Southern Ridges walk — those need a fourth or fifth day.
Should I do Sentosa or the zoo with only three days?
Sentosa suits couples and beach-focused trips; the zoo and Night Safari suit families with children. Both are full days, so pick one rather than trying to combine them.
